Nicola Dove (Project Coordinator)
Nicola Dove is a doctoral student in the Graduate Program in Education – Language,
Culture and Teaching – at York University. Her research interests center on examining
the educational experiences of Caribbean immigrants and their descendants in diasporic
contexts. She has been involved with various research and community-based initiatives.
At present, Nicola is part of a research team investigating the impact of leadership-
focused mentoring on African-Caribbean Canadian youth. As part of her personal
commitment to community engagement and in alignment with her research interests
related to resolving achievement gaps in education, she volunteers at a youth mentorship
program in Scarborough.
